hi, i'm jackie hagmann

I got my first camera for my 14th birthday. It took two AA batteries and only held 20 pictures at a time. Ever since then, I always had a camera on me, capturing the best moments of my teenage years. As a high school graduation gift, my parents got me my first real camera, and I was in love. I began to take my friends' senior pictures, family pictures, and even did my first cringeworthy wedding reception when I was 20. God then pulled me to a different career path, and I pursued another passion of mine and became a zookeeper at my local zoo. Animals have always had one of the biggest spaces in my heart, and I'm so blessed to have taken part in a once in a lifetime career. I never forgot about my photography- I would occasionally bring my camera into work, take pictures of the animals, then show them to my boss. It worked. In 2015, my boss offered me a brand new position- a zookeeping photographer. (I like to call it a photograkeeper.) It was the coolest job I ever had.

Now, I'm 26 years old, and reside in Pennsylvania. I believe Jesus is Lord and I try to show it through everything I do. I'm engaged to the ultimate love of my life, and God has blessed us with an amazing journey together. From my imagination, to my brain, to my eyes, to the camera, I try to show nothing less than God's beauty in this world.

Now, tell me about you. What makes you smile? What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends? I like to get to know the people I photograph. I love when people tell me what style of pictures they want, or what kind of poses they want to do. Creativity isn't just on my side of the camera. Get comfortable and express yourself. Show me what makes you laugh. Everyone's different and has a story that needs to be told. I try to capture more than just a smile, I try to get emotion, moods, and spirituality. Every picture should be taken for more than just face value, and it's up to you to help me. What will you do to show your side of the story?
